How Not to Turn Into a Bridezilla

As a bride, it is really typical that you will be talking about your wedding details non-stop. This is because your excitement for the big day will really be evident, especially when the day is fast approaching. But before you annoy your bridesmaids (or worse: lose your groom), here are some things you should remember to do:

Stop Talking about Your Wedding
When a friend asks how the wedding details are going and the discussion turns into a 20-minute monologue on whether or not you should opt for a white tablecloth over a vintage white one, you know that you are already talking too much about the wedding. Even though what you are experiencing is normal, you have to be conscious about what you are doing so that your friends will not be annoyed. The next time someone asks you the question, just limit your answer to a few sentences.

Don’t Insist on the ‘Perfect’ Wedding
Most of the time, the people who insist on having a ‘perfect’ wedding turn out to have some sort of disaster on the big day. This is because these brides forget the essence of the ceremony and concentrate too much on the details of the reception. If you start seeing this pattern in yourself, be in control of your thoughts so you can stop yourself from turning into a bridezilla.

Don’t Forget about Your Fiancé
Sometimes, brides get too caught up in their wedding details that they forget about their fiancé’s needs. If this becomes a continuous occasion, your fiancé may grow distant from you. In worst cases, you may be left standing alone at the altar with no groom beside you.

Remember that your wedding day is just one day in your life. Don’t forget to live your life the way it should be lived. You can easily designate tasks for your wedding day so you don’t get too wrapped up with the planning. As for your wedding dress needs, check out our collection for some options.

Why You Should Consider a Black Wedding Dress

If you ask a bride what color her wedding dress will be, it's not often she replies, "Black." Black has always been a taboo in American weddings. But with color making a comeback, there's no reason to shy away from this sultry, figure flattering color.

Even if it’s not for a wedding dress, many women love to wear black. The dark hue hides a million sins (so to speak!), which makes you feel more confident - and more comfortable - in your clothing. At a wedding, black comes off as elegant and sophisticated.

Still can't get behind coming down the aisle in a black gown? Apart from bridal dresses, there are many ways you can incorporate the color into your wedding day. Use black in your wedding decor to give the room an upscale feel. Pair it with red, pink, or gold for a classy effect.

If you are interested in wearing a black wedding dress, there are now a number of designers that offer this color option. Schedule an appointment at our boutique where we can help you explore the possibilities!

Hairstyle Options for Your Wedding Day

Nowadays, there are so many options for making your hair stand out during your big day. This is important to know for brides because they will be the star throughout the entire day. If she is unable to keep her appearance good, she might not look good in the photos. As such, it is important that she prepares for the big day by looking her best.

Apart from hiring a good hairstylist, it really pays to know what the bride’s options are. If you are the bride-to-be for an upcoming wedding, here are some tips on how to wear your hair:

Retro Glam
One of the trends for bridal or bridesmaid hair is highly influenced from old Hollywood. Known as the retro glam hairstyle, it is a style wherein one side of the hair is pinned behind the ear and created with an S pattern. Another option for bries is to have a side swept chignon with a loose braid; as it keeps the face clean.

Half Up, Half Down
A foolproof hairstyle for a bride is a half up, half down. This is a great option for those who do not know any other hairstyle that would be a good match for their dress. It’s really important that the dress is not too hidden by the hair, especially if wearing an embroidered top. Otherwise, the top portion of the dress will be hidden by hair.

When picking out hairstyles for your bridesmaids, you have to remember that you do not need to have them match all their style. This is no longer applicable in today’s time, as it really is about the preference of your bridesmaids.

If you’re still looking for a bridal dress for you or your bridesmaids, feel free to browse our collection for some ideas. We may help you find something that will go with your hairstyle.

Appropriate Dressing for a Winter Wedding

Now that it’s December, it’s time for a winter wedding theme. This is the time of year when couples take advantage of the snow. If you have recently been invited to a winter wedding, it’s important that you know how to dress appropriately for it. For one thing, you still have to look gorgeous when you’re wearing toned down colors in tune to the season.

Here are some tips on how to dress for a winter wedding as a guest:

Colors to Wear: One of the first things you have to consider about winter weddings is that they are mostly all about the holiday colors. This means that the couple may choose a theme that is based on the part of the holidays that they appreciate most—snow, Christmas lights, or Santa Claus. Make sure that you check what the theme of the wedding is and go for that color too. It’s best that you stick to solid patterns instead of floral so that you stay in line with the theme as well.

Wear Jewelry: The good thing about wearing solid patterned clothes is that you can dress it up with jewelry. Go for either a gold or silver jewelry that complements your outfit. Make sure that you keep your style simple and classic so that you don’t overpower the event.

Wearing Layers:  Depending on where the wedding location is, you have to make sure that you also use the right covering to keep you warm. Your options include cashmere, wool, velvet, or heavyweight satin. If it’s not that cold, you can opt for a pashmina.

As a wedding guest, you have to ensure that you don’t go overboard with what you are wearing. You have to stay classy so that you will look good on the photos. If you’re the bride, on the other hand, feel free to check out our selection of winter wedding dresses that will keep you warm and looking gorgeous!

What Will Leighton Meester Wear to Her Wedding?

Ever since news of Leighton Meester’s engagement to Adam Brody broke, people have been patiently waiting for further developments. And who wouldn’t? After all, this is a quiet and reserved couple that everyone loves!

One of the most important things that we are looking forward to about the wedding details is what Leighton will be wearing for her walk down the aisle. While there hasn’t been any news yet on when, where, and what; we can’t help but speculate on this topic.

Here are some ideas on what the Gossip Girl star will be wearing on her big day:

Plaid
With her constant use of haute kilted skirts on her role as Blair Waldorf, we wonder if she’ll continue this pattern and wear a plaid bridal dress. We’re not exactly sure there has been a dress of such nature but either way, we know that Leighton will rock the outfit no matter what!

Hippie Dress
After her role in Gossip Girl, Leighton has been captured wearing a number of hippie style clothes. Her style nowadays includes flowy dresses, slacker chic, and cut-offs. We wonder if this will also reflect in her chosen wedding dress.

Glam Bride
We do think she’ll look great in a Vera Wang dress though! After being the face behind the Vera Wang Lovestruck 2011 campaign, there is some hope that she will choose a Vera Wang dress as well! We hope so, anyway.

What do you think will Leighton wear on her big day? Check out our selection of wedding dresses and let us know what your choice for the GG star is.
