Be sure your flower girls shines on your wedding day by finding the most adorable dress!

Having a flower girl for your Big Day is a really cute addition regardless of what kind of wedding you want to have. If you decide on this, make sure your special young lady looks adorable by choosing a beautiful dress for her. Here are some tips on how to do this:
• Choose a length that’s suitable for the girl. In general, flower girl dresses are either long or teacup-length, but that doesn’t mean that a shorter dress is not appropriate. A dress that ends right above the knees can look really beautiful on a girl that is older than 7, especially if she is a bit taller. • Furthermore, keep in mind the fact that the skirt does not absolutely have to be a “ball gown” cut. Skirts inspired by the 1950s fashion and “baby doll” skirts are quite popular with designers and they will definitely look gorgeous on your flower girl. • As for the color, white is usually the go-to option for many brides and their flower girls. Still, that does not necessarily mean that it is an absolute “must”. You can choose to dress your flower girl in whatever color you find more appropriate. For example, you can dress your flower girl in the same color as your bridesmaids (and she’ll look amazingly cute for sure!). Also, you can choose an elegant dress that combines multiple colors too (black and white, navy and white, pastels, bright colors, silver, black and pink, and so on). If you are searching for a flower girl dress to be absolutely amazing, don’t forget to check out with Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique. We have gathered dresses created by the world’s most famous designers, so you will definitely find something in our store!

What should you be searching for when seeking a wedding ceremony site? Take a look:

Choosing a ceremony site for the Big “I Do” is a very important step in the entire wedding planning process. Thus, you will want to be cautious in the way you do this so that you settle for what’s truly best for you and your fiancĂ©.

How do you do this? How do you choose a ceremony site? What are the things you should absolutely look for in your search? Read on and find out more:

· Indoor/outdoor. Decide on whether you want to have an outdoor ceremony or not. Indeed, they can be really beautiful, but take into consideration the fact that it might rain (and you should have a backup plan if such a thing happens).

· Religious/non-religious. Decide on whether you want your ceremony to be religious. If you want this, you will have the option of having your ceremony in a place of worship (and some religions will allow you to bring a religious officiant to your ceremony site of choice as well).

· Proximity to the venue. You don’t want to spend half of your wedding day travelling from the ceremony site to the venue – and you most certainly don’t want this for your guests either. Ideally, you should pick a venue that provides you with a ceremony site as well – but if that’s not possible, make sure they are in close proximity to each other at least.

· Price. If you are like most couples, you will want to stick to a certain wedding budget too. Some ceremony sites do not perceive an actual “fee” for their service, but they do accept donations (religious sites especially). Also, some ceremony sites’ price is included in the wedding venue package too – so make sure to inquire before you sign anything.

Be sure you know what to do after you purchase your wedding gown!

Buying a wedding dress is a beautiful and emotional moment in every woman’s life. However, not so many women think of what to do after they have already made their big purchase. To help you stick to a well-organized plan, we have put together some of the most important things to keep in mind for your “post-wedding-dress-purchase” period. Read on and find out more:

· Start thinking of your bridesmaids dresses. Now you know how your own gown will look, so you can choose bridesmaids dresses that are in a similar style. Start with the same store at which you bought your own gown because they will most likely have plenty of options for your bridesmaids too.

· Purchase quality undergarments. Regardless of what size you may normally wear, the right type of undergarments can work wonders on how you will look on your wedding day. Keep in mind that you will need to bring this to your wedding dress fittings so make sure to make the purchase before that!

· Purchase your shoes. Decide on a pair of shoes that look beautiful without being uncomfortable. Same as with the undergarments, you will have to bring your shoes to the wedding dress fitting so that you can have your gown tailored to your precise height.

· Choose your accessories and jewelry. Start thinking of how you will accessorize your beautiful gown too. When picking the perfect pieces of jewelry, remind yourself to think of whether or not they will actually work with your gown’s design too.

Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique can provide you with a myriad of options when it comes to wedding dresses of all styles. Our designer gown collections are simply gorgeous – and we guarantee you will fall in love with at least one of our dresses!

Follow the trends to be sure and pick the best bridesmaids dresses for your wedding:

Every bride wants to look drop-dead-gorgeous on her Big Day. At the same time though, she wants her attendants to reflect her grace and beauty as well. If you are searching for the perfect design for your bridesmaids’ dresses, you have come to the right place! Following, we have put together a list of bridesmaids’ dresses trends that will surely inspire – so make sure to read on and find out more:

· One-shoulder. This season, one-shoulder bridesmaids’ dresses have taken over the runaways – and honestly, we’re absolutely in love with the idea. The best thing about it? It looks great with almost any kind of fabric, color, size or length!

· Short. While long dresses are definitely not off the table, short dresses are very popular too. For a spring/summer wedding that is less formal and more fun, short/knee-length dresses make for a wonderful choice.

· LOTS of colors. This season is in love with almost any color under Sun – and take this quite literally. From pretty pastels to classy black and from sassy, daring bright colors (think fuchsia, for example) to various shades of neutrals and greys, there’s something for just about anyone.

· Mismatched bridesmaids. These days, you don’t have to match your bridesmaids 100%. In fact, mismatching them is very trendy. Having your bridesmaids’ dresses in various hues of the same color looks absolutely wonderful in the photos! Also, keep in mind that you don’t even have to resume yourself to one color and its hues – you can go for 2-3 colors that look really good together as well.

Here at Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique, we can provide you with a wonderful variety of bridesmaids’ dresses that are gracious, unique and extremely trendy. Come visit us and take a look at our designer bridesmaids dresses!

Alterations 101: What To Expect During Alterations

Photo provided by SBB Bride, Lauren. Photography: Trevor Dayley
One of the biggest benefits of purchasing a wedding gown from Suzanne's Bridal Boutique, is having our Master Seamstress, Suzanne, handle your alterations. Suzanne has over 35 years of experience in bridal alterations - but since you probably don’t, here is a crash course on what to expect during the alterations process at SBB.

Timeline: Alterations take time, and Suzanne will need to see you in your dress 3 to 4 times to insure a perfect fit. Bridal gown alterations generally take about two months; if your wedding date does not allow for that much lead time, Suzanne will complete your alterations in the time available. Bridesmaid gowns usually take about a month. Bridesmaids will have 2 to 3 fittings.

What to bring: Bring your shoes, bra, and any other undergarments you plan to wear with your dress to every appointment. Bras, slips, Spanx, and shoes can greatly affect the fit of your dress. Bring a friend with you, especially to your final fitting. This companion may be the only person at your wedding who will know how to do your bustle or tie your corset back!

What to expect: Most brides need some sort of alteration to their gown, so don’t expect your dress to fit like a glove straight out of the bag. When you arrive for your fitting, you will get fully dressed in your wedding attire - right down to your shoes. Think of it as a dress rehearsal for your big day! At your first fitting, you will discuss your alterations needs and custom changes with Suzanne herself. Once you and she agree on what needs to be done, a consultant will get you scheduled for your next appointment and take payment for your alterations. All alterations must be paid for in advance. When you come back for your second fitting, about two weeks later, Suzanne will have pinned up your hem and completed most bodice adjustments. She never cuts your hem before the second fitting! She is a firm believer in ‘measure twice, cut once’! With your hem pinned, she will be able to mark your bustle and double check the rest of the fit. The third fitting is usually your final fitting. At this appointment a consultant will work with you to insure that you are satisfied with the fit of your gown. They'll also teach you and your bridal party how to properly dress you in your gown and how to secure the bustle. Occasionally, mostly in the cases of unique or major alterations, additional fittings are necessary. Usually, your fitting will be complete within 30 minutes.

Make sure your Spring wedding is in full bloom with these ideas:

Thankfully, Spring is here – and this means a full season of amazing weddings is right around the corner too. If you plan on having a Spring wedding too, you should definitely take note of the following ideas because they will make your wedding “bloom” with grace, splendor and positive vibes!

· Bouquet. Roses, peonies and hydrangeas are still very popular in the wedding world and they make for an extremely graceful and feminine choice. The best thing about them? They come under all colors of the Earth so you can have your bouquet in anything from plain white to pastels and very bright colors too. For your bridesmaids choose some pretty Easter-inspired flower baskets instead of the classic bouquets and you will definitely add a very Spring-like feeling to your wedding!

· DĂ©cor. For your centerpieces, you can either go for the same flowers as the ones you chose for your bouquet or you can choose something that goes along the same colors. Spring flowers, peonies and roses make for wonderful arrangements – and they can be paired with herbals and even berries for a really unique effect. Furthermore, this year’s all about copper, gold and silver vases for the centerpieces so don’t forget to take those into consideration too.

· The clothes. If you want a Spring wedding dress that’s a bit non-traditional (and yet extremely elegant), go for a tea-length dress. Also, for your groom’s attire, simple suit made out of a light fabric and paired with a pastel-colored bow-tie will be a great choice.

· For the groomsmen, choose something that goes along the same ideas as the groom’s attire. As for the bridesmaids, choose light chiffon for their dresses’ fabric and allow them to pick their own favorite pastel color if you want to create an eclectic look in the photos.

Here at Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique, we can provide you with a huge range of splendid wedding dresses and tuxedoes to choose from. Come visit us and take a look at some of the best wedding clothes designers’ pieces!
