What is a Designer Trunk Show and why should you attend?

The world of weddings is a marvelous, exciting and amazingly beautiful one. And yet, for someone who has just started his/her wedding planning process, the world of weddings can also be dazzling and confusing as well. For instance, many people out there do not know exactly what a designer trunk show is – or why they should attend it, for that matter. If that is the case for you as well, read on and find out more about this:

· Generally speaking, a trunk show a presentation used by manufacturers to show potential retailers their products. In the wedding industry (and most of the times in the fashion industry as well), customers’ experience is added as well – and this means that customers are invited to attend the trunk show, to see the products and to purchase them as well if they want to.

· Attending a trunk show is a great idea because it will provide you with the opportunity to see a designer’s entire collection. In most of the cases, retailers will select the dresses they want to sell in their store but they will not include the entire collection. By attending a trunk show you can see all the dresses and you can also purchase one if you see something you really love.

· If you decide to attend a trunk show, look out for the opportunities offered by various wedding gown boutiques. Most likely, you will have to make a reservation in order to be able to attend the show so make sure you do this (especially if the trunk show focuses on a designer you know you like).

Here are Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique, we can provide you with a superb array of wedding gowns and tuxedoes created by the world’s most famous designers. We organize trunk shows regularly too – so if you want to take a look at some fabulous wedding gowns or tuxedoes, come and visit our website’s “Events” section!

Your bridal party has responsibilities, here is what they should be taking care of:

Being part of the bridal party is a great honor – but it also comes with responsibilities. If you want to make sure you assign the right tasks to your bridal (and wedding) party, check out with the following tips because they will definitely clear things out:

· A Maid (or Matron) of Honor is usually the bride’s most reliable help both throughout the wedding planning process and throughout the actual wedding as well. She helps the bride with any planning tasks she may need help with, she helps the bride select the wedding gown, she coordinates the bridesmaids (and this includes bridesmaids’ dress fittings), she relays the requirements/questions the bridesmaids may have to the bride, and so on.

· Also, a Maid of Honor will help the bride dress up before the ceremony and she will accompany her. During the ceremony, the Maid of Honor will sign the marriage license, she will hold the bride’s bouquet and she will also arrange the bride’s veil. As for the ceremony, a Maid of Honor will usually organize the formal pictures with the bridesmaids, she will dance with the best man and she will also help the bride change her clothes before leaving for the honeymoon too.

· A Best Man’s duties are somewhat similar to those of a Maid of Honor’s. He will help the groom organize the other groomsmen (again, this includes formalwear fitting and other similar tasks), he will pick up the attire the groom wears on his wedding day, he will organize the toasts at the rehearsal dinner and he will help with whatever the groom needs help with.

· Furthermore, a Best Man will bring the bride’s ring, he will take care of the officiant’s fee after the ceremony and he will sign the marriage license too. Also, during the rehearsal, he is expected to have the same duties as the Maid of Honor and he is also the one who will give the first toast as well.

· Bridesmaids are generally coordinated by the Maid of Honor and they will help with the wedding planning tasks she may need help with (planning the bridal shower, for example). Also, if the bride requests it, bridesmaids can be part of the wedding dress shopping entourage and they may help her directly with other tasks as well. Bridesmaids walk down the aisle, they dance with groomsmen and they help with other tasks during the ceremony and reception too.

· As for the groomsmen, they generally follow the same “route” as the bridesmaids too. They attend fitting appointments, they help the Best Man plan the bachelor’s party and they also help him with other tasks as well. Before the ceremony, groomsmen usually help guests take their seat (and this means that they have to be there earlier too).

If you are still searching for the perfect formalwear for your bridesmaids, groomsmen or even for yourself as the bride and groom, don’t forget to stop by Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique. We hold an impressive collection of dresses and tuxedoes meant to suit any wedding style out there so it is definitely worth paying us a visit!

Here are some fun wedding printables you will definitely want to take a look at:

In general, weddings tend to be quite expensive. However, there are tons of tips you can use to make everything easier on your pocket without compromising on everyone’s fun too. For example, did you know that the Internet is a wonderful source of free (or very cheap) wedding printables? Here are some of our favorite types of printables to inspire you in planning a fun, budget-friendly wedding!

· Wedding invitations and stationery. Everything from invitations and Save the Date cards to table placement cards and even allergy food tags can be found on the Internet for free. All it takes is downloading these printables and having them printed on quality paper. You will save a lot of money this way and you will have wedding stationery that looks truly beautiful too!

· Photo booth props. Provide your guests with a fun photo booth and some props and they’ll definitely have the time of their lives! The good news is that you can find free printable photo booth props online – so you won’t have to spend too much for this!

· Wedding signs. Among the many types of wedding printables you can find online, wedding signs are among the best ones. Print them on paper or on thin foam and decorate them with glitter, dried flowers or ribbons and you’ll get the most fabulous inexpensive wedding signs ever!

· Fun for the little ones. If you know kids will be attending your wedding too, you should make sure they will have at least as much fun as their parents. Provide them with fun little games and they will be more than happy! For instance, you could give them a free printed wedding coloring book – and this will keep them busy for at least a couple of hours!

While it’s perfectly fine to skimp on stationery, make sure you don’t compromise the quality of your wedding gown for some extra money. Come visit Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique and take a look around – we are more than certain that you can find something here that suits both your budget and your style too!

Take a look at some of the top wedding traditions that you should forget about:

Weddings have changed a lot over the course of the past few decades and although they are still considered to be formal events (or at least most of them are), the truth is that there are many traditions that are slowly fading out.

What are those wedding traditions you should (or very easily could, at least) forget about? Read on and find out more.

· Your dress. We all know that brides are supposed to dress in white – but the truth is that these days, there’s nothing to stop you from wearing whatever color you want. From creamy white to blush pink and from passionate red to silver gray, modern wedding gowns come in a huge range of colors, styles and even lengths to suit just about every bride out there. As a matter of fact, you don’t even have to wear a dress if you don’t want to. There are a lot of other options that are equally stylish, elegant and beautiful too!

· Even more than that, bear in mind that you are not obliged to wear a long veil – unless you want to, of course. You can wear a small veil or no veil at all too – and that’s perfectly fine as well.

· Tossing the bouquet. You can definitely choose to stick to this tradition, but the truth is that it may be less fun if you don’t have a lot of single, female guests. However, if you know that you will invite a lot of unmarried ladies, tossing the bouquet could turn into huge fun!

Still searching for the perfect wedding dress? Take a look at the impressive designer wedding gown collection Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique has brought in! We guarantee there will be at least one dress to deeply fall in love with!
