Be incredibly unique when choosing your wedding venue!

Choosing the right wedding venue is one of the most important steps in the wedding planning process – precisely because it will have a huge influence on everything else too. If you want to be truly unique when picking your venue, make sure to check with the following tips because they will definitely inspire you:

· National Park. Who said you really have to stick to the idea of a “traditional” wedding venue? With so many gorgeous landscapes offered by this country’s National Parks, you really have a wide range of options if you want to get married right in the middle of nature’s most beautiful “works of art”.

· Museum. Of course, if you want to get married surrounded by actual works of art created by the world’s best artists, you are more than free to do this as well. In fact, this will turn into a really stylish ceremony and it will be more than unforgettable for everyone invited.

· Historical building/library. Getting married in a place infused with history can be a great idea – especially for those of you who find this to be truly romantic. From old ruins to old libraries, there are plenty of options to choose from – so you will definitely find something to suit your love story and your style.

· Boat. Float away on the “wings” of love by saying “I Do” on a cruise ship! Intimate, fun and truly original, this is the kind of idea all of your guests will find more than delightful – so why not settle for it?

No matter what unique venue you may choose for your Big Day, rest assured that Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique has the perfect wedding gown to suit both your style and your wedding venue’s as well. Come visit us, take a look around and we guarantee you’ll find the perfect wedding dress!

Do You Need To Have A Wedding Receiving Line?

Wedding etiquette can be a very complex issue! Where do you seat step-parents? How do you honor a loved one? How do you insure you greet all your guests? Well, as for the last question, have you considered a receiving line?  A receiving line could be the answer if you consider these tips:

·Consider how well you know your guests. Many brides and grooms have long guests lists that include distant family, old acquaintances, and friends of parents. If you don't know all of your guests well enough to have an in-depth conversation with them, having a receiving line is a very polite way of allowing your guests to congratulate you. It is also a great way to meet the guests whom you haven’t met yet!

· In general, if you have more than 100 guests, seriously consider a receiving line. Some people would advise you to simply pass by each guest’s table and say, “hello” if you have a lot of guests. However, the easiest way to deal with this remains having a receiving line. Instead of having to make the rounds all evening, the guests come to you!

· Make sure you know who really has to be in the receiving line and who doesn’t. For instance, you may want to include your mom and dad in the receiving line, particularly if several guests are friends of theirs, and/or they are hosting the wedding. But you probably don't need to include bridesmaids and groomsmen. Instead let them mingle among the guests and make sure the event is flowing smoothly.

Whether or not to have a receiving line may be a complicated choice, but where to purchase your wedding gown from is easy: Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique! Our Gilbert, AZ boutique holds some of the world’s best designer collections – and regardless of what you may be looking for, you will definitely find it here. Contact us today and find out more about the stunning wedding gowns in our boutique!

Trunk Shows: FAQs

What the heck is a "trunk show?"

Brides ask us that all the time. Although they happen in the fashion world all the time, the first time most women hear the term "trunk show" is when they become a bride. So, we thought we'd take a minute and clue you in on exactly what a trunk show is (and what it isn't.) ; )

A trunk show is a special event where a designer sends out dresses from their latest collections. Often they'll include their best sellers from past seasons as well. Trunk shows are unique in that they allow a bride to get her hands on a designer's complete collection rather than just the selected pieces usually available in the boutique. And it's all at no cost to the bride!

Brides often come in wanting a particular dress from a designer that they have seen in a magazine or online. Although our boutique may carry the designer's line, we may not carry the exact gown the bride is looking for. Normally for the bride to get her hands on the dress, we'd need to see if it was available as a loan sample and could be sent, on a temporary basis, to our boutique for her to come back and try on. For the bride to get a loan sample it could cost her $50 or more - and not every dress is available to be sent out.

Trunk shows are the perfect opportunity for a bride to see the gowns she's been pining over from the magazines. As we mentioned, gowns sent for the trunk show are the newest, best, and brightest. They're the gowns you can't wait to try on.

At Suzanne's Bridal Boutique we usually try to make this special event even more fun by making it into a bit of a party, offering our customers snacks and beverages during the event.

Is a trunk show a sale?

No. Trunk shows are special events - although some shows have an incentive to buy, such as a discount or gift with purchase. Mostly a trunk show is a spectacular opportunity to see gowns you might not otherwise see. Who knows? You might just find The Dress!

So...where do the trunks come in?

The name trunk show comes from the fact that designers used to carry their collections from store to store in trunks - hence the name.

When is your next trunk show?

So glad you asked! Our current trunk show schedule is posted on our website. You can visit it now by clicking here.

Be Cute And Creative When Choosing “Something Blue”

Although many wedding traditions are outdated, the truth is that some wedding customs are so cute you simply cannot ditch them!  Adding “something blue” is definitely one of them! Here are some creative ideas on how to include something blue into your wedding day:

· Wear a blue family heirloom. If you have blue pieces of jewelry that have been passed down from generation to generation, this is a wonderful way to stick to tradition and honor your ancestry.

· A colorful hair clip. Complement your beautiful hairstyle with a blue hair accessory that will make everything pop and may bring you good luck in your life as a married couple, too!

· Something to remember a relative by. If your father would have loved to be there for you on this important day of your life, you can bring him closer to your heart by wrapping your bouquet in one of his favorite blue ties. Or stitch a square from your mother's favorite blue dress into the inside of your gown. This is a wonderful, sentimental touch that will definitely be really unique and emotional!

· Handmade handkerchief. Use blue string to sew a beautiful message on the inside of a white handkerchief. You can carry this with you when you walk down the aisle or, even better, you can give it to your future husband and allow him to be your “something blue”.

- Go for a blue wedding gown. If you are still searching for the ideal wedding gown, keep in mind that Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique offers gowns in a variety of colors - not just white! If you're bold enough to wear blue, consider one with romantic lace, like the Ivoire by Kitty Chen featured on the right. A blue wedding dress not your thing? Don't worry, this gown, like most of our 750+ gowns, can be special ordered in ivory or white. All you need to do now is set up your appointment at SBB!

How should you handle those guests who got a little too tipsy at your wedding?

Undoubtedly, weddings are happy events – but sometimes, some of the guests may get a bit too “happy” under the influence of one too many drinks. How do you handle guests that get a little too tipsy at your wedding? Here are some tips to help you out:

· Talk to the venue manager and to the bartender. Since it may be a bit odd for you to simply go to your guests and tell them not to have another drink, you should make sure to talk to the venue manager and to the bartender to stop providing tipsy guests with more alcohol. This is one of the most delicate ways to deal with this kind of situations.

· Furthermore, you should also delegate a family member to remind people that this is a wedding and that getting too tipsy may not be the right attitude. Your father, your sibling or even the Best Man could be perfect for this job, especially if you trust their ability to be very delicate about this.

· Hire additional security. Now, nobody says that you should automatically call the security guys when someone gets tipsy. But being safer is much better than being sorry – so make sure to hire security staff to deal with guests that may go a bit over board with their drinking. Do tell them to handle these guests gracefully and discretely though, so that you don’t cause a scene at your wedding.

If you are still searching for the perfect wedding dress or tuxedo, don’t forget to stop by Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique. We hold an more than impressive collection of designer wedding gowns and tuxes meant to make you feel truly special on this important day of your life!

Do you know what to wear to your rehearsal dinner?

Having a rehearsal dinner is obviously a great way of making sure that everything will go smoothly on the Big Day. Moreover, it is a great way to introduce the two families and allow them to get to know each other in a less “stressful” environment too.
In general, these dinners are less formal than the actual wedding. However, this doesn’t mean that you will not want to look at your best. What to wear for the rehearsal dinner, though? Read here and inspire yourself:

· A stylish jumpsuit. You don’t have to wear a dress if you don’t want to. In fact, an elegant jumpsuit will make for an excellent choice because it will provide you with enough freedom of movement, it will look very fashionable and it will also be elegant enough too. For a dash of extra style and “sparkle”, go for a sequin jumpsuit and you will absolutely shine.

· Little white dress. Of course, it is not absolutely necessary that you wear white at your rehearsal dinner. But if you want to, wearing a little white dress is an excellent choice especially if you plan on having a semi-formal rehearsal dinner. Go for simple cuts and classy accessories and you will look gorgeous!

· Long floral dress. Planning a more informal affair for your wedding rehearsal dinner? A long floral dress is an excellent choice for an outfit. Beautiful, feminine and very summer-y, this kind of dress is perfect for rehearsal dinners taking place over barbecue or simply at a low-key restaurant.

If you are still searching for the perfect wedding gown, make sure to contact Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique. We have brought in some of the world’s most famous designer collections – so it will be more than impossible to resist them!
