Oh, the number of choices you have to make for the Big Day! Among the million-and-one decisions you have to take before the wedding day, make sure choosing  color palette is not even by far among the least important tasks for you. Choosing your wedding colors is extremely important for the way everything will look – but it will indeed be one of the most difficult tasks as well. How to do it? How to choose wedding colors you will truly love? Here are some tips to make this choice easier for you:

· The mood you want to create for the Big Day can matter a lot. For instance, if you want your wedding to be vibrant, playful and full of energy, brighter colors will be a great area to turn to. However, if you want something more delicate and gentle and a “calmer” appeal created around the Big Day, you should turn to pastels.

· The wedding theme and season can be a great source of inspiration. For example, most of the Rustic weddings incorporate some form of brown or nude in them. Likewise, most spring weddings will focus on colors inspired by this season too. Take a look around you and allow nature to be one of your best advisors because it never “creates” anything that is “off” or “distasteful”.

· Make sure you have a 12-color wheel with you. If you want your wedding palette to be simple, elegant but not boring, choose a monochromatic combination (different shades of the same hue). If you want your wedding to be bold and daring, choose a complementary combination (any two colors that find themselves as opposites on the wheel). And if you want your wedding to be well-balanced and unique, choose colors that are analogous (any three colors that find themselves one after the other on the wheel).

· To select a very particular shade, inspire yourself from Pinterest, magazines and current wedding trends. While you should definitely not create a wedding palette just because it is “in”, these trends can give you great ideas too so do not hesitate to use them (in moderation, of course).

Spring 2013 Wedding Color Trends

Spring is a magical time -- all the flowers are blooming, the weather is warming up, and it's the height of wedding season. Of course, this means it's also time for a lot of great new wedding color trends. Here are a few of our favorites.

• Pastels with a twist. While pastels are always popular wedding colors, this spring there are some changes to the usual uses. Brides are opting for a touch of color in their own dresses -- pink and mint green being the top choices.
• Ombres. Another way pastels are making their way into weddings is as part of an ombre. This is a great way to have a single wedding color, but allow bridesmaids to have a range of shade choices within it. It also looks great for cakes and floral arrangements.
• Greys. It might not be the color you immediately associate with weddings, but grey is a big one for spring. It's being used in combination with brighter colors, especially yellow, pink, and blue. This keeps them from being overwhelming, and keeps the grey from being too somber.
