Belts  - as far as wedding fashion goes - are an under appreciated accessory I feel. Belts are such an easy way to add a li'l something to a gown - either a burst of color, a bit of sparkle, or a unique detail. And what do you know? Belts were all over everything at Market. Even if you choose a gown without a belt, many designers have begun to offer belt packages so that belts can be ordered separate from the gowns. There are a ton of options...consider one for your bridal gown.

Un-strapless

Strapless gowns have pretty much ruled the runway for a long, long, long time. We were very happy to see that the new seasons bring more sleeved and strapped options. From spaghetti straps to wide, decorated straps, short and lacy sleeves to long and elegant ones - everyone can find a length they are comfortable with. We also carry a selection of sleeved, modest gowns that are ready for your church or temple wedding. But if you don't find exactly what you want, Suzanne is more than happy to add on sleeves to that sleeveless number you've fallen in love with at our boutique.

We've Got A Lafee Prom Scholarship Finalist!

We love, love, love when our customers win things from our designers! Designers post contests all the time and there is nothing more exciting than to find out that one of our girls has won something. So you can imagine how excited we were to find out that one of our prom customers, Theresa S. (we hope we're spelling your name right!), was announced as a finalist in the Lafee Prom Scholarship contest. In order to even be a finalist, Theresa had to submit a photo of herself in a Lafee gown and an essay about her well-rounded life as a high school student. Now that it's down to the top five, it will be up to the public to go, read her essay, check out her photo, and vote for her to win a $2,500.00 college scholarship. Wouldn't that be amazing if she won!?!
Voting will start on July 1st on the Lafee Prom website. We'll be posting soon about how you can help Theresa win.

The Fur-ocious Bride

The runways at New York's Fall 2011 Fashion Week were filled with fur: on jackets, collars, cuffs, and even shoes!  It was a hot look that will no doubt keep you warm and looking fabulous all season long. {see the trend on the runways below}

Well it just doesn't get any sweeter!  Thanks Nicole, you looked gorgeous.  Congrats to you and your new hubby!

What I think we loved best about Nicki's gown is the contrast she added just by having that dark sash at her waist.  It accentuates her waistline and adds a great splash of color.  Beautiful!

To Market, To Market

It's market season in the bridal world.  What's market?  Well, it's kind of how Fashion Week is to the normal fashion industry.  This is the time of year that the designers show us what's in store for the upcoming season and where they market their wares.  It's an exciting time of year for us bridal buyers...seeing the latest gorgeousness never gets old.
The great thing about market season is that it happens not just once, but several times across the country.  Of course, some shows are hotter and bigger than others, but the cool thing is finding out what's hot in different areas of the country.  For example, Jasmine Bridal clued us in as to what's on fire at the Atlanta show...

This will give potential consumers a realistic idea of how our gowns look in different colors and sizes..."

This is very exciting news!  Our brides, bridesmaids, prom girls, and mothers could be featured on Jasmine's national site!!  We are just kind of in love with the idea that our girls could be kinda famous (we admit to being a little star struck...just ask us about our collective crush on Orlando Bloom)!
