Being a bride is a difficult “job” – but
sometimes, being a groom can be equally difficult too. Of course, weddings do
tend to be a lot about the brides – but that doesn’t mean the groom shouldn’t
chip in and bring their own contribution to the Big Day too. How to make sure
you are doing your “job” the right way? Here are some tips you should really
keep in mind:
· Do help her plan the wedding. After all, this day is about both of you no matter what “tradition” says. This is a day to celebrate your love for each other and your willingness to commit to each other for the rest of your lives. This is about you just as much as it is about her too.
· Listen to her. Even if you don’t have any kind of idea when it comes to planning the Big Day, listen to her at least and give your honest opinion when she asks for it. If she doesn’t like it, talk to her (calmly!) and see why she doesn’t want it for the wedding.
· Make compromises. If you really want something for the Big Day and she doesn’t, make sure you learn how to reach compromise solutions too. For instance, if you really, really want a chocolate cake, talk to her and see if this couldn’t be included in the wedding rehearsal or as a “side” to the bigger cake.
· Do all this from the very beginning. Don’t start bringing your own ideas into the play towards the end of the wedding planning process because it will most likely lead to endless fights. Be there from the very beginning, communicate with her and be honest. You will have a wedding that’s truly unforgettable for sure!
