How Far in Advance of My Wedding Should I Get My Gown?

Over the course of our lives, we choose many types of gowns: for our Sweet Sixteen birthdays, for a night out in town, for the great graduation prom and so on. And yet, none of these gowns is as important as the one we will wear on the most important day of our lives: our wedding.

Many brides prefer buying their dress well ahead of the wedding date. However, you may feel a bit confused as to just how far in advance you should do this. To help you out, we have put together a list of tips that will teach you some of the most important things you should know when it comes to when you should buy your wedding gown.
·         Generally speaking, most wedding planners will advise you to start searching (at least) for a gown about 9 months before the wedding date. However, keep in mind that this number can be smaller or larger according to what kind of dress you want, according to where you buy it from and according to your own preferences as well.
·         You should definitely not leave this up to the last moment. Some brides choose to do this because they want to shed off some extra-pounds before the big day, but forget to take into consideration how long it will take until the dress will be delivered to them from the moment they order it (sometimes, this can take up to 3 months or more).
·         Keep in mind that you will also want to have enough time for the potential alterations as well. Most brides require at least some basic alterations made to their gowns so remember to take this into consideration.
Here at Suzanne’s Bridal Boutique, we will make sure you are 100% satisfied with your wedding gown.
