Maggie, Maggie, MAGGIE!
At Suzanne's Bridal Boutique, we are beyond excited for our Maggie Sottero Trunk Show happening this weekend! I don't know what it is about Maggie trunk shows that turns the boutique into a house of crazy happiness, but it happens every time her show comes to town. Maybe it's that we're getting our hands on the latest merchandise from Maggie for the first time - or perhaps it's the innovation and luxury that seems to be sewn into every gown - or maybe...just maybe...it's just good ol' Maggie Magic! LOL!
All I know is that we're super stoked to be presenting the Maggie Sottero Fall 2014 collection on August 1st & 2nd. Judging by our appointment book, our brides are excited, too! It's going to be a full house, but we'll have treats and sweets on hand to keep smiles on everyone's faces (as if the stunning gowns weren't enough!).
Time slots are filling fast, but it's not too late for us to arrange a visit for you. I'm sure you don't want to miss this spectacular trunk show! Just give us a call: 480.926.9106.
See ya this weekend,
SBB Girl

Tips for Choosing a Wedding Head Piece
It’s your wedding day in beautiful Gilbert Arizona and you’ve taken
the extra precautions needed to ensure that everything is perfect.
It’s time to walk down the aisle so you take one last look in the mirror and make a head to toe check:
So we’ve put together a list of headpieces that go with different styles of wedding gowns and hairstyles:
It’s time to walk down the aisle so you take one last look in the mirror and make a head to toe check:
- Hair styled – check
- Earrings on – check
- Necklace fastened – check
- Wedding gown zipped – double check
- Shoes polished – check
- Veil set – ?????
So we’ve put together a list of headpieces that go with different styles of wedding gowns and hairstyles:
- Your headpiece should match your dress. If you’re wearing a simple wedding gown then coordinate it with a less elaborate hairpiece. However, a detailed gown calls for a more ornate headpiece whether that be a veil, ribbons, crown or combs.
- Your veil length should coordinate with the length of your gown; the shorter the dress, the shorter the veil. Wear a chapel or cathedral length veil with a train, a ballet or fingertip with an ankle-length dress, and a blusher with a short dress.
- Consider your faces bone structure when choosing a headpiece. For example, if your face is full perhaps try adding height with a tiara. If you have a long, narrow face you should add width to your headpiece.

Wedding Gowns for Summer Weddings
It’s summertime and that means wedding season is in full
swing with new trends coming up just about every other week. There's no doubt that brides to be are thinking about the gown they'll wear and with it piping
hot here in Gilbert we have decided to give you some
ideas for summer wedding dresses that make your groom go ‘OMG!’
The Confident Dress
Perhaps consider wearing a short dress with an A shape that is just
above the knees. Go for a dress that has decorations starting from the
waistline to where it ends. A short dress will definitely make you look
confident, prepared, and above all, sexy!
The Classic Gown
While every other bride is trying something new with their
wedding dresses, why not stick to the basics? Get a classic couture with a
gradual A shape that represents a more sophisticated and mature side of you. You
can buy a classic gown with two different materials for the top and the bottom.
A lacy back will work quite well on a hot day, but so will a deep V neckline
with light fabric for the lower body.
Remember that its summer, and your dress
should be manageable while enhancing your facial and body features. Of course we have the perfect wedding dress for your Gilbert wedding so why not stop in or schedule a fitting.

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Kris
Here's Kris' story:
"Glen and I have known each other over 37 years, and reconnected 2+ years ago. On the second day of our vacation in Italy, Glen rented a private water taxi to a secluded island looking towards Venice. We were escorted to a private garden overlooking the water. What happened next is what I’ve been waiting for all my life. As we approached the table with two glasses of wine, Glen leaned over and said, “What a spectacular view, but not as spectacular as you.” He dropped to one knee and asked me to be with him forever."

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Morgan
Here's Morgan's story:
"Joe made my dreams come true and planned a trip to Hawaii. He planned for a luau when we landed, so I changed into a Hawaiian dress and put on the jewelry his mom brought for me. We walked along the beach before the luau and found a little private cove. I had no idea what was to come. Joe got serious and dropped to one knee and asked me if I would marry him. He was so nervous; he opened the box upside down! I said yes! We walked back up for the luau, where they announced our engagement."

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Jenna
Here's Jenna's story:
"My fiancé set up a fake drawing at Dillard’s for me to be entered in for a black dress and shoes of my choice. I went to the mall with my best friend and “won” the drawing. He set up a hair appointment a week prior asking me to be a model for prom styles. My uncle picked me up in a limo and said we were going for dinner at the Ritz. The driver made a stop at Tempe Town Lake. Chris was on the bridge with family, friends, champagne and roses where he asked me to marry him!"

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Heather W.
Here is Heather W's story:
"We went to Seattle, my favorite city, to see George Strait in concert. Doing a little sight seeing, we went to the Japanese Gardens. As we were walking around the gardens, Graham suggested we have our picture taken by a nice group of ladies. Not thinking much of it, we posed for a picture. The next thing I knew, Graham was down on one knee and proposing. Not only did I begin to freak out, but so did the women taking our picture. Graham managed to get the entire thing on camera, just like I wished for. It was perfect!"

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Gwendolyn
Here's Gwendolyn's story:
"Marc took me to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date, being seated at the same table we sat two years prior. Next, we walked along a moonlit lake, where an orchestra was waiting. We danced as they played our song. A photographer captured the bended-knee proposal. Then I was blindfolded as he drove me to a “surprise destination.” Upon arrival, I took off my mask and heard, "Merry Christmas!" Our 50 closest friends from around the country recreated the Christmas party where we first met for an impromptu engagement party and magical evening."

"How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Mia
Here's Mia's story:
"Ben and I went on a hike. Ben made it to the top first. Once I arrived, I turned my back to admire the scenery. After a couple minutes, I turned around. Ben wasn't in my line of sight, I was slightly confused. I peered down... there was Ben, one knee on rocky terrain, holding a box open with the most stunning ring! I was shocked and speechless... Once I found words, I said yes and celebrated! Whenever we're together, I feel like I'm on top of the world... in that moment, we truly were, just the two of us."Love this proposal? "How Did He Ask?" FINALIST: Johanna
Here's Johanna's story:
"Ever heard of “Tebowing?” While hiking in Prescott, my fiancé was adamant about finding the “perfect lunch spot”. After 4 hours and on the verge of giving up, we stumbled across a bench between two trees, on the edge of a lake. After a quick bickering session, he convinced me to take a video of our view. When my camera reached Nick he was on a knee. Me being a blonde and him being a sports nut, I thought he was “Tebowing”. I realized he was on his knee for another reason, ran up to him, and said yes."Love this proposal? Colored Wedding Gowns Are a Great Choice
If you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding dress, color might just be the right answer. Arizona brides are embracing this great trend, which is also popular among celebrity brides.
In fact, this weekend saw another celebrity bride don a champagne and gold gown. Jessica Simpson wore an intricately colored gown by Carolina Herrera for her wedding to Eric Johnson. Champagne and gold are very on-trend colors for brides, as it offers a delicate feminine look on your special day.
Of course, you don’t need to limit yourself to metallics. Pale pinks, blues and greens were seen on the New York Bridal Week runways earlier in the year and are proving to be a great choice for many brides. Brides are also embracing darker colors, with jewel tones being perfect for autumn and winter weddings, in particular.
Whether you want to check out colored wedding dresses or white wedding dress for your big day, come by our Gilbert bridal salon to see what we offer!
